“Silent Partner Press,” “we,” “us,” and “our” include Silent Partner Press and its imprints: DreadAche, Kentwood & Kline Love Stories, Red Herring Run, Other Places Press, and Rustler’s Ridge Press.

• ARC (advance review copy) lists

You agree that:

• You’ll provide accurate, current information when you subscribe or contact us
• You’re responsible for maintaining the security of your email/account
• We may send you emails related to:
• Newsletters you subscribed to
• ARC or review opportunities
• Transactional emails (order confirmations, download links, etc.)
• Changes to our policies

You can unsubscribe from newsletters at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails.

5. Purchases, Free Books & Third-Party Platforms

We distribute and/or sell our books and digital products through:

• Third-party retailers (e.g., Amazon, Kobo, Apple Books, Google Play, Barnes & Noble)
• Third-party platforms like Payhip
• Occasionally, direct download links we control

When you buy or download through a third party, their terms, privacy policy, and refund rules apply to that transaction. We do not control their systems, pricing, or policies.

Free books, samples, and promotions

From time to time, we may offer:

• Free ebooks in exchange for joining a newsletter or ARC list
• Discounted deals or temporary price drops
• Free review copies through our Site or service providers (e.g., Booksprout)

These offers are subject to change or withdrawal at any time. You may not resell or redistribute free copies.

6. ARC (Advance Review Copy) Terms

If you receive an ARC from us—directly, from our newsletter, or via a service like Booksprout—you agree:

• The file is for your personal use only
• You will not upload or share the file publicly, or give the file itself to others
• If you choose to leave a review:
• It must be honest
• You should disclose that you received a free copy (per platform guidelines)

We reserve the right to:

• Limit who receives ARCs
• Remove people from ARC lists who repeatedly:
• Share files
• Abuse the system
• Request ARCs and never read or review them without explanation

We do not guarantee that every ARC request will be granted.

7. User Content (Comments, Messages, Reviews on Our Site)

If our Site allows comments, testimonials, or other user-submitted content (“User Content”), then by submitting it you:

• Grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content in connection with our Site and promotional materials (with reasonable attribution where feasible)
• Confirm that you have the right to share that content
• Agree not to upload anything:
• Illegal, defamatory, or harassing
• Pornographic or hateful
• Infringing on someone else’s copyright or trademark
• Containing viruses or malicious code

We may remove or edit User Content at our discretion, but we are not obligated to monitor everything posted.

This does not control reviews on third-party platforms (Amazon, Goodreads, etc.); those are governed by those platforms’ rules.

8. Prohibited Uses

• Harass, threaten, or harm others
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or related systems
• Scrape, spider, or systematically copy large portions of the Site or our ebooks

• Use our content to train or improve AI/ML systems without written permission
• Circumvent technical protection measures on our ebooks or digital files

If we believe you’re abusing the Site or our content, we may suspend or block your access without notice.

We are not responsible for:

• The content, policies, or practices of those third parties

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Silent Partner Press and its owners, authors, contractors, and partners will not be liable for:

• The amount you paid directly to us (not to third-party retailers) in the three months before the claim arose, or

• We need to protect our readers, authors, or systems

14. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Tuscola County, Michigan, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

If you’re outside the United States, you’re responsible for complying with your local laws to the extent they apply.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with any other policies or guidelines posted on the Site (such as our Privacy Policy and Permissions & Usage page), constitute the entire agreement between you and Silent Partner Press regarding your use of the Site.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
