ARC & Reviewer Policy
Last Updated: 11/22/2025
Silent Partner Press (“we,” “us,” “our”) provides Advance Review Copies (ARCs) of our books to readers, reviewers, influencers, librarians, booksellers, and members of our ARC teams. This policy outlines how ARCs are distributed, what we expect from reviewers, and the guidelines you must follow when reviewing or sharing our titles.
1. Purpose of ARCs
ARCs are provided for early review and promotional purposes only.
They are not final versions of the book and may contain errors, typos, or content that differs from the final published edition.
Receiving an ARC is a privilege—not a guarantee of future access.
2. How ARCs Are Distributed
Silent Partner Press distributes ARCs through:
- BookSprout (primary ARC platform)
- PayHip (direct delivery for select titles)
- Email distribution for specialized reviewers or partners
- Imprint-specific reviewer groups
- Newsletter-exclusive giveaways
Reviewers participating in our ARC program must be able to receive digital files in EPUB, PDF, or BookFunnel-compatible formats.
We do not provide physical ARCs unless explicitly stated for special promotional campaigns.
3. Requirements for Reviewers
By accepting an ARC from Silent Partner Press, you agree to:
- Leave an honest review on the designated platforms
- (Amazon, Goodreads, Kobo, your blog, social media, or wherever requested).
- Submit the review within the timeframe provided, usually:
- 1 week after launch for most titles
- 2–3 weeks for longer novels or multi-title ARC bundles
- Disclose your ARC status, per FTC guidelines:
- Example: “I received a free review copy from the publisher.”
- Provide honest feedback—positive reviews are never required.
- Review ethically:
- No harassment
- No attacks on authors, reviewers, or readers
- No spoiler-heavy reviews without warnings
4. Non-Disclosure & Confidentiality
ARCs are pre-release material.
By accepting an ARC, you agree not to share, post, or distribute:
- ARC files
- screenshots of full chapters
- plot details beyond reasonable review content
- any unreleased book elements
Leaking ARC content may result in permanent removal from all future ARC lists.
5. Use of Affiliate Links
Reviewers may use affiliate links (PayHip, Amazon, Bookshop, etc.) in their reviews.
You must comply with your region’s disclosure laws.
Affiliate earnings do not influence ARC availability.
6. Reviewer Removal
Silent Partner Press reserves the right to remove reviewers from ARC access for:
- repeated failure to leave reviews
- abusive, harassing, or unethical behavior
- leaking files or sharing them publicly
- violations of this policy
- misuse of ARC content
- plagiarism of another reviewer’s work
- attempts to sell or distribute the ARC
- misrepresentation or fraud
Removal may be temporary or permanent.
7. DNF (Did Not Finish) Policy
If you do not finish the book, you may still:
- leave a brief, respectful review, or
- mark it as DNF with an explanation
There is no penalty for DNFs as long as reviewers communicate honestly.
8. Spoilers
We ask reviewers to avoid major spoilers in public posts unless a clear spoiler warning is included.
9. Reporting ARC Abuse or Piracy
If you believe an ARC has been leaked or shared illegally, please contact us immediately:
support@silentpartnerpress.com
We take piracy seriously and will pursue removal and enforcement where necessary.
10. Updates to This Policy
We may revise or update this ARC Policy at any time.
Your continued participation in the ARC program indicates acceptance of any updated terms.
